Remember Fanny’s Garlic Bread? Here’s the easy recipe for you to enjoy at home:

Slice Italian bread 3/8” thick. Grind 6 cloves of garlic. Use 6 large cloves of garlic per 1/2 lb. of butter.Melt 1/2 lb. butter on stove. Add garlic to melted butter and let simmer slowly on stove for 30 to 60 minutes as butter reaches the flavor level you are seeking. The longer you let simmer and stir, the stronger the flavor gets. Do not let butter turn brown, keep the heat low and even, stirring occasionally. When desired strength has been reached saturate bread with butter, one side only. Place in broiler, butter side up and toast til lightly brown and bubbly. Remove from broiler and serve immediately. Caution: when cooking bread, watch carefully as it can burn quickly. Note: Butter can be frozen and saved for next time, simply add more butter and garlic.
